Forklift jib attachments are commonplace in industrial premises and logistical hubs, and are designed to make light work of repetitive manual lifting tasks. When a forklift jib is attached to a forklift, it becomes a highly functional multi-purpose lifting machine.
Typically featuring a hook at the end of the jib arm, a forklift jib attachment is engineered to slide onto the forklift tines and lock in with ease, meaning that your load can be quickly and seamlessly hooked on the jib ready for lifting or transit.
When to use a forklift jib
Forklift jibs are simple and effective tools for handling repetitive lifting tasks, making them essential utility items that are often seen in logistical hubs, warehouses, factories, and workshop environments as they are extremely useful for unloading shipping containers.
As a safe and cost effective alternative to hiring or purchasing cranes or hoist equipment, forklift jibs are an economical forklift attachment that supplement the versatility of a forklift fleet.
Utilising your forklift to the best of its ability is always a cost effective method and will save you time, money, and labour in the long run. Simply slide onto the forklift tines and secure with the safety chain. Our forklift jib crane attachments are robust and sturdy in construction, with our larger units able to support loads up to 10,000kg.
The most common types of forklift jibs are:
Fixed Forklift Jib – Made for repetitive tasks where adjustments to the length of the jib are not required.
Extendable forklift jib – Intended for material handling operations where there are varying load sizes, the telescopic design of an extendable forklift jib can be adjusted depending on the load. Each extension has a different loading capacity to maintain the stability of the forklift.
Adjustable forklift jib – Designed to accommodate different angle adjustments for various load sizes. Different angles will have an impact on the load capacity of the forklift jib.

Which forklift jib is best suited for your requirements?
Forklift jibs are specialised forklift attachments, suitable for a wide range of purposes, from towing to battery removal, reaching confined spaces, carrying long loads and more.
There are a wide range of forklift jib attachments available – here is an overview of some of the most commonly found forklift jibs:
Battery removal jib 2,000kg
This 2,000kg battery removal jib has been designed for the removal and replacement of battery packs into electric operated forklifts.
Tow ball jib 2,000kg
The slip-on tow ball jib is made for versatility with its distinctive dual purpose tow ball design, allowing both towing and general lifting functionality up to 2,000kg.
Short tow ball jib 4,500kg
A shorter, sturdier variant of the 2,000kg tow ball jib, the short tow ball jib attachment is designed to give increased lift height with low profile, while retaining the dual purpose towing and lifting design. As a general-purpose forklift jib able to manoeuvre in confined spaces, the short tow ball jib has a weight capacity of 4,500kg and features a 1.9 metre reach when fully extended.
Compact long jib 4,500kg
The compact long jib is an economical heavy duty forklift jib attachment with a 4,500kg max carrying capacity, and a 3.5 metre reach when fully extended. Ideal for carrying long loads.
Compact short jib 4,500kg
A variant of the compact long jib, the compact short jib 4,500kg is designed to give increased lift height as the jibs profile is low. This is a general-purpose jib able to manoeuvre in confined spaces, making it handy for delivering or extracting materials from hard to reach places.
Long jib 2,500kg
Designed as an essential standby for handling long/awkward loads, this boom forklift attachment jib features a 3.5 metre reach when fully extended and a closed length of 2.1 metres.
Long jib 5,000kg
The 5,000kg long jib forklift attachment is a step from its 2,500kg little brother, and is designed as a general purpose jib. Great for manoeuvring in confined spaces, it has a 3.5 metre reach when fully extended.
Long jib 10,000kg
With its 10,000kg maximum safe load rated capacity, this long jib forklift attachment is the heavyweight of our forklift jib attachment range. Featuring a 3.56 metre reach when fully extended, this forklift attachment is also fitted with wide fork pocket centres. The overall jib length when closed is 2.19 metres.
Short jib 2,500kg
The 2,500kg jib crane attachment is designed as an affordable general-purpose jib compact enough to be able to manoeuvre in confined spaces. The jib’s fully extended reach is 1.96 metres and its closed length is 1.3 metres.
Short jib 5,000kg
This 5,000kg short (or boom) jib forklift attachment has a 1.96 metre reach when fully extended and an overall length of 1.3 metres when retracted. This will make it easy when manoeuvring loads in confined spaces.
Tilt jib 4,500kg
One of the most versatile forklift jib attachments in our range, the tilt jib allows for extra height of up to 2.23 metres with a 3.53 metre reach when fully extended, and can carry loads up to 4,500kg.
